Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Wenago

| This is a Grade 1 natural processed coffee from the Yirgacheffe region of Ethiopia. Wenago is one of the woredas in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region (SNNPR) of Ethiopia.
So what does Natural Process mean?
Natural Process, or Dry Process, refers to picking the ripe coffee cherry and letting the cherries dry intact either on raised beds or concrete patios in the sun for up to 4 weeks. The fruit pulp and parchment are then mechanically removed revealing the green coffee bean. Careful attention to drying is of utmost importance during this process - all of the beans need even sun and airflow to produce a consistent product. This is the oldest method for processing coffee and is fraught with possible pitfalls like ferment, uneven drying and insect damage. When done with care and attention a dry process coffee tastes magical with great sweetness, pure fruit flavors and huge body.
